Upscale, yet inviting, this Madison Restaurant aims to bring excitement and energy of a bigger city, while keeping its Midwest hospitality spirit. RED stands for Refined, Elegant and Delicious and is known for its outstanding sushi menu and equally celebrated fusion dishes and craft cocktails. The design goal was to create an interior setting that reflects unique character of this culinary gem. This was approached by incorporating custom sculptural metal work, artisanal murals and specialty surface treatments and materials. With seafood being menu highlight, the underwater theme was introduced through images of floating figures, “bubble” inspired design components and curved motifs. The bright, contrasting color scheme reflects vibrancy and energetic feel of RED’s established brand, while warmer and darker materials provide sense of intimacy within space.
