SUB ZERO HISTORY MUSEUM REMODEL. FITCHBURG, WI

COMPLETED IN 2018

The roots of this internationally recognized high end appliance company lie in Madison, WI where Sub Zero’s founder Westye F. Bakke started producing first dual compressor refrigeration. The company grew and expanded over the years, adding Wolf Apliances and Cove Dishwashing to their company’s umbrella, becoming one of the leading names in the kitchen appliance industry.

The museum space is where Sub Zero campus visitors would come to get familiar with the brand’s origins and the story of their success through visual media and showcase of memorabilia items.

A neutral dark finish palette was selected to help direct primary attention to museum displays, custom made lightboxes, message graphics and artefacts. With main background being monochromatic, interest was added with aid of various visual and tactile textures. A careful selection of surface materials and graphical motifs such as open ceiling beam pattern shaped after Sub Zero’s snowflake logo design were intended to tie in to company’s branding,
